I am very pleased to provide this letter of recommendation for Teddi Samuel, Founder of her RMCC, Supportive Living Program. I have a 42-year-old son, with an anoxic brain injury who has been her client for the last 3 years. My wife and I were his primary caretakers for more than 16 years. We searched for a live-in facility for more than ten years and could find nothing that was acceptable. My son has some balance problems and Teddi added modification to his bedroom and built a bathroom for his specific needs. This increased his confidence and independence. Since becoming a resident, his speech and ability to interact with other people have clearly improved. Teddi completes all the government paperwork and staff management requirements flawlessly; however, I believe her greatest asset is her personal relationship with each of her clients. My wife and I are so grateful that our son is under Teddi’s care.

No place like here, I love being here. I am the chef with staff at most meals…It’s great to cook like I did when I worked in a restaurant.

You’ve done so much to make this home and my birthday special by taking me to my favorite restaurant and giving me a gift certificate. I have gotten to do things I never would have done anywhere else, like horseback riding, indoor skydiving, kayaking, and biking in the mountains.

I get to be me, eat when I want and have a life. We help make the menu and decide on places to go.

Teddi and Hilary have created a home and a family for our son in Colorado. They provide comprehensive services from medical to social and care for him as their own. They have supported all of us during challenging times, when no one else would admit B into their facility and created a plan to support him so he could eventually live in the community. They also provided direct care for us when B was in the hospital. B has developed a level of independence that was not expected 10 years ago. We are very grateful for everything they have done to help B live in the community, not in an institution.

You guys saved {his} life, before he came to [RMCC] my son was nearing morbid obesity and could hardly walk; now he goes on daily strolls, plays basketball and has dropped to a size 34!”
